AUGUSTA, GA – U.S. Rep. John Barrow (D-GA) voted to keep Obamacare in place today in Washington, by voting against the House bill (which passed) to defund the looming healthcare disaster. Two Democratic congressmen, Jim Matheson (D-UT) and Mike McIntyre (D-NC), voted to defund Obamacare, but not Congressman John Barrow, who represents the most Republican district in the country represented by a Democrat..
“Today John Barrow once again sold out Georgia working families for Nancy Pelosi’s defense of Obamacare, in classic Barrow form by voting to save Obamacare after claiming he first voted against it,” says Republican challenger John Stone (R-GA12). “This time he can’t get away with the distortion, and we will make sure that every voter in Georgia’s 12th District knows he just voted to save this job-killing destruction of our healthcare system.”
“Obamacare cannot be repaired, he must be repealed and stopped entirely,” Stone says. “Employees a and employers across our district are already seeing skyrocketing premium notices due entirely to this horrible law, and employers nationwide are being forced to slash employee and retiree health benefits. Yet John Barrow once again stood with Nancy Pelosi and Barack Obama instead of his fellow Georgians.
Stone, the front-runner in the race to defeat Barrow, says today’s vote symbolizes nearly a decade of mis-representation by the embattled liberal from Athens. “He continues to vote both for and against nearly every controversial issue, then claims both sides of the argument to confuse the voter. This time, he will have to face a vigorous series of televised debates on every issue, and his vote today alone is likely to give us the victory.”
